Your Future Starts Here.
Help shape the future of independent festivals.
Student Ambassadors represent Valley Fest in their college or university community and help us tell the story of an independent festival on an organic farm by Chew Valley Lake — gaining real-world experience in marketing, events and the creative industries along the way. You bring the ideas and the energy; we bring a real working festival to put them into.
An Industry Development Programme, Not a Street Team
Valley Fest is creating opportunities for students to gain practical experience, build confidence, develop professional skills and contribute to a festival that actually happens — four days, three stages, tens of thousands of people on a farm in Somerset. Ambassadors are contributors with ideas and skills, not a promotional workforce: you’ll work with our marketing, programming and production teams on real briefs, with real deadlines, and see the results on site.

What Student Ambassadors Do
Pick the strands that fit you — most ambassadors do two or three over a season.
Spread the word
Help spread the word across campus, student societies, social media and local communities — the lineup, the farm, the feasts, the reasons people come back year after year.
Make the content
Create social content, photography, video, campaigns and other promotional material with our marketing team — work that goes out on Valley Fest channels with your name on it.
Connect people
Connect the festival with students, young creatives and local communities — societies, open mics, student media, the people who should know about us and don’t yet.
See how it’s made
Gain insight into the planning, promotion and delivery of a live festival — from the first lineup announcement to the last act on the Sunday night.
Bring your own idea
Bring forward new ideas, collaborations and student-led initiatives. If there’s something you think Valley Fest should be doing, this is where you pitch it.

Explore opportunitiesWhat You Gain
- Practical experience for your CV and portfolio — real campaigns and real outputs, not hypotheticals.
- Marketing, communication and teamwork skills developed alongside people who do this for a living.
- A network — you’ll meet people working in music, events and the creative industries, on site and in the months before.
- Ownership — the chance to contribute ideas and take the lead on projects that interest you.
- A route further in — the chance to explore other festival roles, subject to availability and suitability.
Being straight with you: the programme is about experience and access, not perks. Ambassador roles are not paid positions and don’t come with guaranteed tickets, backstage access or academic credit. Where a specific opportunity does include any of those, we’ll say so in writing when we confirm it.
