THE GATHERING PLACE
This is the area to gather, ponder and learn. Within the gathering place we have a number of venues:
Gathering place information point – this is where you’ll need to put your name down for all workshops! There will be a sign in sheet for each session. You will also congregate at the information point to go on any of The Community Farm Tours or the Bee and Wildlife Walks. This is where you can have a walk around the farm and see how they’ve been able to attract birds back to the farm. You’ll also learn about wildlife and what you can do to create good habitats and how to make a natural bird feeders.
View point which is our talks and debates tipi. The programme is packed with everything from talks on bees, compost, body confidence, and we’ll hear from wildlife film makers of Our Planet which has been aired on Netflix. They will be showing us how we farm more efficiently to free up space for wildlife? Sustainable palm oil – is there such a thing? And if there is, how do we demand it from manufacturers of the products we love? There will be panel discussions on clean beauty, debates on whether informed consumers can make a difference and panels on how we connect children with food. You can see the full programme on the workshops and talks page
Hear Here which is our spoken word and poetry tent with acoustic music in the evening. From interactive story telling, to group poem writing and teatime tales – this is the place to be. You can find singalongs, rappers and beatboxers galore. Kick back and soak it up. You can read what’s on offer in the Hear Here tent on the workshops and talks page.
