Craft-D is a spoken word poet, writer, musician, rapper and battle MC from London. His spoken word and rap performances aim to bridge the gap between forms associated with traditional poetry and contemporary hip-hop, using experimental rhyme schemes, structures and metaphors, often challenging societal stereotypes and stigmas around issues such as anxiety, mental health, masculinity and structural inequality.
Craft-D is well known for his performances in Don’t Flop rap battle league where he maintains an impeccable win/loss record, and has performed in major venues such as Ministry of Sound and Roundhouse London. In the short time he has been performing spoken word, Craft-D has supported the likes of Mark Grist and Attila the Stockbroker and other highly regarded UK poets. He is also the founder of acclaimed events company Raise the Bar Spoken Word, and a Resident Artist at the Roundhouse in London.
“Craft-D performs with a flow and wordplay evoking hip-hop as much as it references Shakespeare.” – Epigram
