Adults and children alike are welcome at Hogsnorts to discover the delights of farming. We’ve everything from picking to pickling, growing to making, plus plenty of meeting and chatting. We’ve got farm animals and even some farmers to meet, plus some wonderful vintage tractors, country sports and falconry demonstrations. Plus The Community Farm have a whole programme of workshops, tours and talks. So come and get involved and start your ‘sheducation’.

The Community Farm workshops: Come and get your hands dirty and your minds full! All activities are completely free and start at The Community Farm yurt by The Yard – just come along and get involved.

Saturday:

10am-11am – Earthwise Forest School: Bring your kids along to get crafty with natural materials. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

11am-12pm – Pickling party: Come and join The Community Farm for some kimchi creations using local produce!  Run by our very own Japanologist this will be a fun session exploring some creative uses for your usual veg!

1pm-2pm – Farming Masterclass: Come and join us on The Community Farm to take part in a seasonal farming activity run by one of our expert horticultural farmers!

1.30pm-2.30pm – The Community Farm Tour: Join members of our team for ever popular Community Farm Tour – learn all about what we do here on the farm and in the community during this fabulous walking tour around our land.

2pm-3.30pm – Family Pick & Cook: Family Pick & Cook! Come and harvest crops from the fields of The Community Farm and prepare a seasonal snack. Suitable for children aged 2+

2pm-3pm – Seed Saving & Cookery: Come and learn about seed saving and follow the journey from seed to plate of one of our favourite vegetables with Will from our field team and local chef Charlie Urry.

4pm-5pm – Farming Talk: Join us for a discussion at dusk around matters impacting your farms and your food – small scale farming, future of food and farming, the “B” word*. Free local goodies to taste to get the mouth juices flowing! *B for Brexit … and bees!

12.30-1.30pm – Bee Walk: Come and join our fabulous Bee Group – they will take you on a walking tour of our land to help you identify the native bees and explain all the planting we have been doing to help these important creatures back onto our land.
