Whether the weather be stormy or balmy, the seas rough or calm, they can be found singing Shanties and Songs of the Sea in pubs, folk clubs and at festivals.
Humour is a key part of their performances (“and our rehearsals!” – Steve) and they like nothing more than connecting with an audience and encouraging them to join in. Catch them down at the Firepit or follow the singing around the festival site.
The Bristol Shanty Crew are a group of friends who love to sing shanties and play their part in sharing and keeping alive these wonderful songs from the days of sail, having a few pints and sharing a merry yarn at the same time. Theydonate all of their fees and bucket collections to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
